"Carolyna" is a song by Melanie C, and is the third single from her fourth studio LP, This Time (2007). Written by Chisolm herself, Steve Mac and Paul Gendler — her long-time guitarist since 1997 and the very first Spice Girls shows — it is one of the album's up-tempo tracks. Produced by Steve Mac, "Carolyna" is a song about girl who has had a rough start in life and needs to escape to find freedom and happiness.
The single peaked at number forty-nine in the UK Singles Chart, becoming Chisolm's lowest position on that chart. It was more successeful in Germany where it reached the Radio Airplay Chart's Top5 and in Italy where it was a Top20 hit.
