Jordin Sparks

Jordin Brianna Sparks (born on December 22, 1989 in Staten Island, New York) is an American singer. On May 23, 2007, she was declared the winner of the sixth season of the reality television show American Idol. At 17, this makes her the youngest winner in American Idol history. She is also the only winner who is from the Southwest, rather than the traditional American South.

Jordin Sparks was born in Staten Island, New York to Jodi Wiedmann and Phillippi Sparks, a former NFL football player for the New York Giants and Dallas Cowboys. She has a younger brother PJ (Phillippi Sparks, Jr). Sparks is currently homeschooled and is a resident of Glendale, Arizona.

Sparks has been candid in her opposition to abortion. She performed at Arizona's Right to Life 2005 conference and at other pro-life events. Sparks also, on her MySpace profile, has a photo of herself holding a "Stop Abortion Now" sign.

For Now is the debut EP from American singer and American Idol winner Jordin Sparks. It is a five-song album that Sparks recorded in Tyler, Texas at the age of thirteen. Sparks was not under contract when she recorded For Now; it was independently released without the support of any major label.

Jordin Sparks - EP is an EP by American Idol season 6 winner, Jordin Sparks. The EP is compiled of the four most downloaded studio versions of songs covered by Sparks from americanidol.com. It also features Sparks' new single This Is My Now, which is the song she won in the finale of American Idol. This EP is exclusively on iTunes for download along with Idol runner-up Blake Lewis' EP. The songs that didn't make the EP's cut are also available for download as individual singles. The songs are from Sparks' performances throughout the Idol series. Each week, Sparks would perform a song on Idol and the day after she performed it, it would be put up on americanidol.com for sale as a studio version. Each song is a cover version of songs by various established artists, except for This Is My Now, which is Jordin's original single.
